Andy Lee’s abscess story will probably make you feel ill
WARNING: This story might make you feel a little queasy.
Andy Lee has gone into incredible detail about a lemon-sized abscess that he had in between his bum cheeks three weeks ago.
The comedian told KIIS 101.1’s Jase & PJ that at first it was a suspected haemorrhoid “but they misdiagnosed and it turned out to be an abscess”.
“Normally they retreat so I went home but it kept growing and growing and growing and it got to the nearly the size of a lemon,” he told the radio duo.
With Andy in so much pain that he couldn’t sit down and could barely walk, his girlfriend Rebecca Harding had to step up and help out with some truly disgusting duties.
“After two nights it (the abscess) burst … We rang emergency and they said you have to try and drain it if you can,” Andy said.
Andy and his girlfriend followed the doctor’s orders and went into the bathroom to drain the abscess.
“I was actually over the bath because there was that much,” he said. “It would have been close to a schooners worth, it was the mega pimple.”
When the abscess was drained, Andy said “you could put a golf ball in the crater it left”.
“I didn’t though,” he added. “I didn’t start up my own little pitch ‘n’ putt.”
Bec probably thought the worst was over, but she had to spend the next week tending to Andy’s gaping wound.
“You have to pack a wound,” Andy explained to the KIIS 101.1 radio hosts. “If it’s something quite big you pack it with gauze. So poor old Bec … was on packing duties.”
Andy showed Jase and PJ a photo of his wound and the radio hosts honestly looked like they were on the verge of being ill.
